Coming out of McNary High, Fisher was offered a full scholarship to Cal St. Fullerton at Charlotte and Bowden University, but opted to bypass his collegiate career and moved to France where he planed on studying the culinary arts, his first true love. After a hellacious kitchen accident in 1996, involving some wine vinegar and an unusually large amount of curry powder, Fisher dropped out of the French culinary school.

He did play sporadically in various cities during the off season there, which fueled his desire to come back to the United States and give the NBA a shot. Fisher began traveling on the NBA taxi squad circuit and quickly caught the eye of CMB GM J. Legend. "I saw some fire in that kid from a different angle then most GM's. I thought we could use him as a spark off the bench in our lineup. He was a bit brash at the time, but I knew we could mold him into a fine young player...and we did."

After becoming a solid reserve off the bench for the CMB, and by winning 6th Man of the Year honors in his rookie season, Fisher moved into the starting lineup in the 98'-'99 season. He has been a dominate force on defense in the past 4 seasons and is becoming one of the leagues finest young talents.
